The Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council proudly endorses Jessica D’Varga for Franklin County Municipal Court Judge.
An Attorney with Saia & Piatt, Inc., D’Varga, a Democrat, has also been endorsed by the Central Ohio AFL-CIO, IAFF Columbus Fire Fighters Union Local 67, Franklin County Democratic Party and the Stonewall Democrats.
“Jessica D’Varga is an accomplished attorney with an extensive resume,” said Dorsey Hager, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council. “Her skills and abilities make her well suited to sit on the Common Pleas bench.”
She is running for the seat with the full term commencing on Jan. 2, 2020.
D’Varga spent the majority of her legal career as a defense attorney representing a vast array of Franklin County citizen who appeared in the Franklin County Municipal Court.
“It is these people to whom I have dedicated my professional life and I want to continue that pursuit,” she said. “Being a part of our judicial process is an honor. All judges, as public servants, should work hard for the good of the public, uphold the law, and ensure that our justice system is working in the most efficient, fair, and balanced manner possible.
I will bring experience, character and integrity to the bench and ensure that everyone is treated with the respect and fairness they deserve,” she added.
D’Varga grew up in a union town and strongly values core union beliefs.
“I am honored and proud to have received the endorsement of the Columbus/Central Ohio Building Trades Council,” she said. “The C/COBCTC endorsement is important to me because I want voters to know that I care about and support our workers and share the same values that continue to guide my life.”
