Sheet Metal Workers Local 24 represents tradesmen and tradeswomen who work in the sheet metal trade, which covers the following crafts:
Architectural Sheet Metal: A combination of technical skills and artistry by shaping metal into useful and beautiful forms. This work may also include building decorations and shaping metal to create attractive and long-lasting designs.
Commercial HVAC: Tradesmen and tradeswomen work on high-volume mechanical systems that deliver heated and cooled air to commercial buildings.
Detailing: Sheet metal detailing is considered CAD (computer-aided drafting) work, and it involves producing detailed two- and three-dimensional drawings of the major systems that make buildings comfortable and safe.
Industrial Sheet Metal Welding: In this field, journeymen make machines used in a number of industries.
Residential HVAC: These service technicians work on installing duct systems for builders in the housing industry.
Service and Refrigeration: Install, test, repair and maintain refrigeration systems.
Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB): TAB technicians ensure that air and water are delivered efficiently, quietly and safely throughout a building.
