Cement Masons and Plasterers Local 132
Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association
OPCMIA Local 132 members provide services to different areas of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The Local is made up of skilled cement masons and plasterers, who work on residential, commercial, highway and industrial projects. The majority of the work performed by Local 132 members generally falls into two categories – commercial and highway work.
Cement Masons work primarily on industrial, commercial and highway projects. Concrete and its related products are used as an effective, durable product to safely build offices, schools, homes, restaurants, churches and any structure you may inhabit on a daily basis. Local 132 members utilize the strength and versatility of concrete for the foundation of roadways, power plants, airport runways and dams. They also perform work on driveways, sidewalks, walls and ceilings, curbs, gutters and slabs on grade. Additionally, Cement Masons perform specialty work such as self-leveling gypsum and epoxy floors.
Plasterers apply various plaster products for a wide range of uses. The varied forms of this product in the walls and ceiling industry require a well-trained and skilled workforce. Plaster provides durability to interior and exterior walls, decorates shopping malls and amusement parks and provides fire resistance and durability in offices and schools.

Who We Represent
Organized in 1864, the OPCMIA has represented and trained plasterers and cement masons for the purpose of protecting and promoting the quality of our industry and the livelihood of our members.
Both segments have multiple specialty fields and niche markets that are essential to maintaining the variety and quality of construction projects throughout North America.
Plaster and concrete are ageless building materials that will not fall out of favor as long as there are a sufficient number of workers skilled in the arts of installation and finishing. These materials are as unforgiving as they are durable and beautiful, and skilled hands and competent management must work together to achieve the desired result and promote and protect this vital construction resource.
The OPCMIA is dedicated to promoting these materials and recruiting and training skilled craftsmen to meet industry demand.
