Why should I become an electrical worker?

Highly skilled and highly trained electrical workers are in great demand in Ohio and here are four reasons why a person should begin a career in the electrical industry:

Earn While You Learn
Instead of paying high tuition costs and going tens of thousands of dollars in debt by going to college, you can earn while you learn. IBEW Local 575 apprentices earn a livable wage and excellent full-family health insurance and retirement benefits as soon as they start working. As they progress through the apprenticeship program apprentices earn raises reflective of their growing skillset. While apprentices gain on-the-job work experience, they also receive mandatory classroom instruction to learn the math and other theories needed to safely and successfully perform their work.

Great employment opportunities
The industry employs over 650,000 electrical workers and 70,000 electrical contracting firms and produces an annual volume of over $95 billion.

State-of-the-art training
The Local 575 JATC provides the highest quality training in the electrical industry. Apprentices not only receive on-the-job training, but receive a classroom education at a state-of-the-art training center.

Equal opportunity for all
