United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada
Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 162 represents tradesmen and tradeswomen who work in the construction industry as plumbers, pipefitters, welders and heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) service technicians.
Plumbers install, maintain and repair drinking water, waste and ventilating systems, as well as wastewater treatment systems.
Pipefitters install and repair piping systems in projects ranging from residential, commercial, industrial and a variety of high-tech and extremely sensitive and sophisticated facilities.
Welders cut and join a variety of materials, from steel, cast iron and plastic to complex and specialized products.
HVACR service technicians install, maintain and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

The Local’s jurisdiction includes nine counties in West and West Central Ohio. Within the Central Ohio region, their territory encompasses Fayette County.
