Local 189 is a proud organization whose purpose is to serve those who toil in the plumbing and mechanical piping industry. We take great pride in our Apprentice and Journeyman training to provide the best craftsmanship money can buy.
Along with our MCACO Mechanical Contractors, we have forged a partnership to build a strong and viable Plumbing and Piping Industry in Central Ohio.
Plumbers install, maintain and repair drinking water, waste and ventilating systems, as well as wastewater treatment systems.
Pipefitters install and repair piping systems in projects ranging from residential to high-tech and extremely sensitive and sophisticated facilities.
Welders cut and join a variety of materials, from steel, cast iron and plastic to complex and specialized products.
HVACR service technicians install, maintain and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

Who We Represent
The UA represents approximately 384,000 plumbers, pipefitters, sprinkler fitters, HVACR service technicians, welders and pipeliners working in the construction industry throughout North America.
