Ohio State Rep. Richard Brown Endorsed By C/COBCTC

Current Ohio State Rep. Richard Brown received the endorsement of the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council to retain his current seat in the 20th District.

He was appointed to the 20th House District in June 2017 and was re-elected in November 2018.

Since taking office Rep. Brown has been focused on education, economic development and veterans’ issues, while working within the district to create the best possible environment for families and job growth.

I want to continue to serve my constituents in the 20th District,” said Brown. “I stand for strong public schools with fair and adequate funding, strong unions (in both the private and public sectors) in support of working men and women, investment in infrastructure and fairness regarding unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation benefits and protection of pensions.”

The grandson of a World War I Army veteran and son of a World War II veteran, Rep. Brown was raised to serve others and work hard for future generations. He graduated from Ironton High School and went to the University of Cincinnati for his undergraduate studies.

In 1978, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree with High Honors in American History.

After attending University of Cincinnati he moved to Ohio State University College of Law where he graduated in 1981. He has worked as a litigation attorney, including serving as managing partner of a multi-city law firm and running his own solo practice law firm.

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council. I was raised in a blue collar family and one of my sons works in the construction trades as a heavy crane operator for Operating Engineers Local 18,” said Rep. Brown. “I am familiar with and understand the issues of working men and women and will continue to support legislation intended to improve the lives of my constituents.”

“Representative Rich Brown has worked hard for the working people of his district and Ohio,” said Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary-Treasurer Dorsey Hager. “He believes in a strong middle class and has been a huge proponent of the building trades and our programs.”

The Democrat has also been endorsed by the Ohio Education Association, Planned Parenthood, the Central Ohio Labor Council, AFL-CIO, Mom’s Demand Action, Ohio Democratic Party, Franklin County Democratic Party and the Somali Link.
