Check out Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary Dorsey Hager and America’s Workforce Radio, host Ed “Flash” Ferenc, as they discuss the upcoming Janus v. American Federation Supreme Court hearing. Oral arguments begin on Feb. 26, on what will be the first national So-Called “Right to Work” case heard by the Supreme Court since the addition of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the bench. Hager said if So-Called “Right to Work” is implemented, it will lead to
lower wages, which will directly impact training centers and apprenticeship programs nationwide.
Hager also spoke about embattled Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, who is fighting a battle to institute So-Called “Right to Work.” Greitens, who is dealing with a criminal inquiry that broadened beyond allegations of sexual blackmail that first surfaced in early January, is doing all he can to make Missouri a Right to Work state.
On the Ohio political front, Hager said every couple of months, the C/COBCTC sponsors a Central Ohio Labor Council luncheon, where a friend of labor – Republican or Democrat – talk about issues important to labor organizations. He also talked about the continuing need to build a bi-partisan building trades coalition in the Ohio House and Senate.
