During his December appearance on America’s Workforce Radio, Columbus/Central Ohio Building Trades Council Executive Secretary-Treasurer Dorsey Hager, recapped the results from November’s General Election.
Ed “Flash” Ferenc, AWF host, and Hager discussed the presidential election and the reasons Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton. They also discussed the results of Ohio’s statewide and local races.
Hager told Ferenc about the details of Senate Bill 394, which is the proposed legislation to fix Ohio’s Unemployment Fund solvency problem. He is worried the bill, in its current form, could deal a devastating blow to the construction industry.
Besides the unemployment bill, Hager said there are rumors indicating legislators will introduce bills to remove Prevailing Wage laws and to make Ohio a So-Called “Right to Work” state.
Ferenc asked Hager to talk about the Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council Convention and the retirement of Walt Workman from the Central Labor Council.
