The partnership between Columbus 20/20 and the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council is beginning to pay off.
Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary-Treasurer Dorsey Hager, told America’s Workforce Radio host Ed “Flash” Ferenc that the partnership is helping to create jobs in the region.
The two organizations are working together to ensure the region has the workforce necessary to build facilities for companies looking to move into central Ohio or are looking to renovate existing structures to stay in the area.
Hager also gave an update on the renovation work at Franklin County Convention Center, which is 90 percent complete. He spoke about this project and how the work his members are performing will make the
convention center one of the best in the state.
Ferenc said this convention center will rival Cleveland’s new convention center.
Ferenc and Hager also discussed the introduction of a So-Called “Right to Work” bill in the statehouse and the implications it could have on Ohio’s blue-collared workers.
