America’s Workforce Radio Segment: City, Building Trades Sign Historic CBA

Dorsey Hager, Executive Secretary Treasurer for the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, and America’s Workforce Radio, host Ed “Flash” Ferenc discussed a historic Community Benefit Agreement the building trades signed with the City of Columbus to build the city’s first fire station since 2003. Hager explained what a CBA is and how it will benefit C/COBCTC members and the community.

They also talked about the opening comments made by North American Building Trades Union President Sean McGarvey during the Annual Leadership Conference in Las Vegas. McGarvey said the cost to rebuild the Texas Gulf Coast from Hurricane Harvey is estimated to be around $350 billion. Hager, who attended the conference, also gave an update on attempts to repeal Davis-Bacon.

Ferenc spoke about the announcement made by Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-Columbus), who will leave his office before Jan. 31.
