On Friday, Oct. 25, IBEW Local 683 transformed their Union Hall into a delightful Halloween haven for a family fun “Trunk or Treat” event.
With temperatures in the high 60s, the event brought together nearly 200 children and adults for an evening filled with fun, treats and community spirit.
The event ran from 6 to 8 p.m. and was a fantastic opportunity for kids to enjoy Halloween festivities in a safe and secure environment.
The event saw close to 40 cars participating, each creatively decorated to celebrate the spooky holiday.
Children, primarily kids and grandkids of Local 683 members, along with some from the surrounding community, trick-or-treated from trunk to trunk, collecting an assortment of candies.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as families enjoyed not only sweet treats but also savory delights off the grill.
Dorsey Hager, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, praised the event.
“Trunk or Treat was an incredible event hosted by IBEW Local 683,” he said. “Kids and grandkids of members as well as kids in the community enjoyed a safe and secure environment to get candy, eat pizza and enjoy hot dogs fresh off the grill.”
A tradition fun for the whole family
The Trunk or Treat event exemplified the commitment of IBEW Local 683 to fostering community connections and providing a safe space for families to celebrate connections and providing a safe space for families to celebrate together.
Along with trick-or-treating, there were other activities, such as painting pumpkins, a photo booth, games, face painting and an inflatable bounce house.
It was a night to remember, filled with laughter, delicious food and, of course, plenty of candy.
