Dorsey Hager, Executive Secretary Treasurer for the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, and America’s Workforce Radio, host Ed “Flash” Ferenc discussed the newly created Building Futures Program.
The C/COBCTC is partnering with Franklin County and Impact Futures to create a multi-trade pre-apprenticeship program for adults who are underemployed or unemployed. The program will eventually help individuals gain the skills needed to test into an apprenticeship and also help them succeed as a journeyman.
Hager also talked about the proposed $2 billion Wexner Medical Center tower and ambulatory center. He estimates this work could create anywhere from 900 to 1,100 construction jobs.
They also talked about the upcoming gubernatorial primary and what issues should be the focus for this election.
